La Banque Postale has appointed Philippe Gay as its territorial director for Burgundy–Franche-Comté, the bank said in an announcement dated June 18, 2026.
Gay will oversee the public bank’s regional operation covering Burgundy–Franche-Comté, an eastern French region where the bank maintains a key footprint in its nationwide network.
La Banque Postale is headquartered at 115 rue de Sèvres in Paris.

The appointment is part of La Banque Postale’s effort to reinforce its regional presence through a structured network of territorial directorates across France. Gay’s remit covers the Burgundy–Franche-Comté directorate, one of those regional units.
How La Banque Postale is organized
La Banque Postale is an active company created in December 1998. According to official data from France’s INSEE statistics agency and the INPI intellectual property office, its supervisory board includes Philippe Aymerich, Yves Brassart as vice chairman, and Anik Roesch.
The bank organizes its operations through territorial directorates spread across France’s regions, including Burgundy–Franche-Comté, which Gay will now lead.
Appointment comes as La Poste group leadership remains in flux
Gay’s nomination comes against a backdrop of leadership reshuffling at the top of the broader La Poste group, the French postal service and state-owned parent of La Banque Postale.
Stéphane Dedeyan, who has chaired La Banque Postale since late 2023, was seen as a front-runner to become CEO of La Poste in summer 2025, according to La Tribune. But in the absence of a decision by the Élysée Palace—the office of France’s president—Philippe Wahl in the meantime kept his role as chairman of the group’s board, La Tribune reported.
The bank framed Gay’s posting in Dijon as part of routine management of its territorial network, separate from the leadership moves at the top of the group.
