Renault is moving beyond cars and into large-scale military drone production, announcing it will assemble Thales’ “Toutatis” loitering munition at a pace of 1,000 units per month starting in 2027.
The French automaker—best known at home by its diamond-shaped logo—said the deal with Thales marks its second defense agreement in 2026, following a January 2026 arrangement to assemble the Chorus military drone with Turgis Gaillard.
