France’s Patrouille de France aerobatic team is crossing the Atlantic for its first North American tour since 2017, launching a monthlong run of East Coast appearances tied to the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence.

From June 8 through July 4, 2026, the French Air and Space Force demonstration squadron will fly its Alpha Jets on what it calls the Liberté 250 mission—framed as a salute to the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and the 248th anniversary of the Franco-American alliance.

The itinerary is built around symbolic flyovers and major air shows, including a July 4 gathering over New York that organizers describe as an unprecedented international review of allied aircraft.

Historic sites on the flight plan, plus a special “Liberté 250” paint scheme

The tour is not limited to air show performances. The Alpha Jets are scheduled to pass over places directly associated with the Revolutionary War, including Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Yorktown, and the Chesapeake Bay. The Statue of Liberty is also on the program.
