Eurosatory 2026 opens in Paris as Europe’s defense spending surge fuels biggest-ever land warfare expo

Date:

Eurosatory 2026 opened in Paris in June 2026 with organizers pitching it as the largest edition in the show’s history, both in floor space and attendance.

The timing is no accident: the event is landing as European defense budgets are rising at their fastest pace since the end of the Cold War, a surge that is helping drive the crowds and the intensity of the talks on the show floor.

Organizers claim a record-setting Paris edition

Eurosatory 2026 is being presented by its organizers as the biggest Eurosatory ever staged. Created to showcase land and air-land military equipment, the event brings together defense manufacturers, government delegations and military buyers from several dozen countries.

French defense heavyweights traditionally have a major presence, including KNDS, Thales and MBDA.

Ukraine war demand shapes the dealmaking

The geopolitical backdrop is hanging over nearly every conversation. Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, orders for armored vehicles, artillery systems and ammunition have surged.

Companies exhibiting at Eurosatory know their order books depend, at least in part, on the decisions and trade-offs being negotiated in the aisles of the Paris show.

French industry seeks visibility amid tougher competition

For France’s defense industry, the visibility stakes are real. Germany is investing heavily in its own military industrial base, and several European countries are now turning to American or South Korean suppliers to equip their land forces quickly.

Eurosatory gives French groups a high-profile venue to defend their position against that competition.

Land systems take center stage, with 2028 already on the calendar

Ground equipment is the core of the show: armored vehicles, short-range ground-to-air defense systems, combat drones and command-and-control systems are among the categories drawing the closest attention from foreign delegations in Paris.

The next Eurosatory is scheduled for 2028. Until then, the contracts signed or negotiated during this Paris week will be the real measure of the 2026 edition’s commercial success.
